New exciting project alert!
A team of ecologists from Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants will be in town to carry out a survey of Urban Pollinator Foraging Sites to update and strengthen the County Carlow Green Infrastructure Strategy.
The aim of the survey is to identify suitable sites, and in particular, to identify the personnel involved in their management (who’s pushing/driving the lawnmower?). This data is necessary to ensure that “no pollinator in County Carlow’s towns and villages will have to travel more than 200 metres in order to find a food source”, by mapping relevant sites, encouraging suitable management practices (which will hopefully up TT marks at the same time), and identifying where gaps in the Network exist.
The team will be visiting sites and knocking on doors during the third week of July, and your support would be greatly appreciated to facilitate this survey work.
